I am less happy with Squadron White putty. I prefer their old Green putty, but the Tamiya is better than either. Gunze Mr. White Putty is also very good. WebJul 21, 2024 · I have switched from Squadron Green Stuff to Tamiya (grey) Putty several decades ago. It dries quickly and sands easily. But it does sink a bit if used in thick layers. Thus, if volume is required, I stick to Milliput two component putty.

Maybe this was just a bad batch, or maybe it's a Chinese ripoff. The so-called putty had the consistency of snot, and I had to squeeze out about half of the tube's contents to actually get the the putty.

The only specific use I remember was an Albatros DIII (WWI airplane) which had a crudely molded fuselage section. It's way too gooey a consistency to sculpt a mini with. It's okay for texturing bases - which is what I use it for. As you have observed it doesn't adhere well, and you'll find out later that it shrinks over a period of months/years after you have finished over it.
